Hurray for Brandon!

So, Yesterday Brandon got a call from AT Still, a PA school in Mesa AZ, and they offered him a spot in their program that starts in June. We are so excited! Brandon has worked so hard, and prepared so much for this and now we really have a spot! It really has taken a load off of him and me. He stressed a bit, but now we can just relax. We have not heard anything from the TX's schools yet, but I think he will still go and check them out if they want an interview. I don't really see the point, but whatever he wants to do is fine with me. I am just happy that we are really going to be leaving Rexburg! It really isn't that bad, but with the weather how it is now, it really makes me want to get outta here! The high for today is 9 degrees! I'm sure when we move to AZ, I will complain about how hot it is. What can I say? I'm a complainer. But, I have promised myself that I'm going to try and make the best of this winter b/c it is the last one here in Rexburg. I really want to make a Snowman. Brandon thinks I'm crazy, but I've never made one before. The snow that we have gotten though, is not the right kind of snow for snowmen... Brandon should know I guess. I have no idea. I also really wanted to try out snowboarding again.... But since I'm prego, Brandon said it's not the best idea. I guess he still remembers last year, and how I was in the snow on my stomach the entire time! So, that is it for now. I will post about Christmas later. I'm very excited about Christmas this year. It will be the first Christmas for me away from home, but I know the Tanners will take care of me!

Dr. Appointment

So, Brandon and I went to my doctor on Thurs the 20th, and we found out that we are having a little girl! I'm so excited, Brandon on the other hand was not so excited. He had convinced himself that we were having a boy. I told him not to do that to himself, but he did anyway. He is excited now though. Our little girl is going to have him putty in her hands! Girls are always Daddy's Girls. She is'nt going to want anything to do with me! I am just excited that everything looks good, and that she is healthy. We have not decided on a name yet. I think I'm going to have to wait until I see her to give her a name. We have a list that we like, but we will see. I felt so bad that he was so sad that is wasn't a boy, I let him get an early Christmas/Anniversary/B-day gift. He got an X-Box 360! That made him happy!

Summer Fun "update"

So, yes it has been a while since I have posted anything. Here is an update. We have been busy this summer. We went to Canada for Canada day which was July 1. It was tons of fun. We went up a day early to stay with Matt and Sadie. Then we had the 4th of July here in ID. Everyone came home to Mom and Dad T's. The boys had a modified Tanner cup, that Brandon won. It was great getting to see everyone. Then Brandon and I went on a trip to NC to see my Family. Almost everyone was there. Brookie and his kids didn't get to make it, and neither did the Stuckis. It was still fun. Kari-Jo, Joni, and me and Brandon went to Bush Gardens. That was the first time Brandon had ever been. I think Bush Gardens is the BEST Theme Park ever!

Then.... we found out that we have exciting news...we are expecting a BABY! We are so excited to bring a little one into this world. The baby is due April 6, 2009. I found out while we were in NC, but waited a week before I told Brandon. I was going to surprise him, but I couldn't hold out long enough.

Then we got to go to White Fish to Aunt Debbie and Uncle Peters Cabin. It was so beautiful. It was a lot of fun. Lots of water play, and just sitting in the sun reading a book. It was so relaxing. That was Brandon's last little trip before he had to go back to school.

Me on the other hand... I went to San Diego CA to visit with my Mom while my Dad was in meetings there. We went to the Temple, which was so beautiful inside and out, and we just hung out. I was there to keep her company. Then about a week later I went back to NC for Tara and TC's sealing. It was such a great experience. It was very touching to see those kids dressed in white getting sealed to their parents. All of us sisters were there. We are all very excited for them.

That is about it... Brandon is back in school. We have applied to PA schools, and now we are just waiting for invitations to come and interview. I'm just working still as a receptionist at Community Care. I love my job. It is going to be sad when we have to move. I will post some pictures later.

Goin' Back in Time

On Sat. night we went to a Beatles concert. Can you see these guys? They look just like the real thing! It was so much fun. Mom and Dad T, and the Housleys came out too. It was here at the BYU I stadium. They were really good. I think Jenn had the most fun though. She didn't sit the entire time! She was up dancin'. I got up a few times, but my "stick in the mud" husband didn't want to stand up with me. He was tired though. All day Sat, he was golfing with his dad. They went 18 holes. But, it was a great time. It was so much fun to see all the different ages enjoy such great music. There were lots of older people to young kids that were there. The Beatles will never get "old". Brandon said to me when we got home, that he wished we grew up during that era. I said why? We get to enjoy the same music now!

These pictures are of Jenny and Tanner dancing, and Dad and I listening to the music. Can you see Tanners Hair? It was so stinkin Cute! Jenn had it all spiked up.

*Brandon and I cuddled up enjoying the Music*

Baby Gift

Katie, a girl I work with, had a little baby girl and her shower was Sat. So, I made her a burp cloth, receiving blanket, and little socks. I then decided that she also needed an outfit to go with all of the accessories. So, this was the final present. Brandon said that I went way overboard, but I had tons of fun doing it. My favorite part were the socks. They are so cute! I just wanted a little foot in them! These were my first socks that I have done. I think they turned out really great. Thank you Kari Jo for teaching me how to do this. I really love it, and it is very therapeutic!

First Lesson in Golf..."Don't talk in the back swing!"

So, here is a question for all of you. Is golfing on Sunday against the Sabbath? Now, I know what all of you are thinking...of course it is! However, when you are married to someone who likes to argue this fact, I would like to tell you some of his side. His thinking is that he has already bought a season pass so he didn't have to pay anything. We attended all of our meetings today, so we didn't skip out on church, and we went together. His argument was that it is just like going to the park and throwing around a fris-bee. So, I pose the question again, is it breaking the Sabbath to go golfing on Sunday? I happen to be on the fence at this point. At first it was a definite yes, but now having gone, I'm not so sure. It was a beautiful night, and it was really nice just the two of us on the green. I of course didn't play, but it was great just walking it with him. One more thought, by me going with him, it also made him control his tongue. To any of you who know Brandon, he rarely gets worked up, but when it comes to his golf it comes out! I didn't help his game by any means. Going back to the title of this blog, I got the first lesson the first tee off! We had to "scratch" the first ball because I asked him a question in his back swing! I learned my lesson, and the rest of the 8 I was very much aware of when I could ask a question! I apologize to those of you who think we are terrible saints, but here are a few pictures of today..

Look at the beautiful blue sky! This was at 6:30 pm.

Can you see the little white ball surrounded by all the long green wet grass? Yeah, this was one of the first balls that we almost lost to either the brush, or the water. Brandon did well getting himself out of trouble. I think he will do well for the TANNER CUP this year! All you boys better watch out! Brandon is gonna reclaim the title! (We are staying positive, hopefully it will work!)

My Little Project

So, as most of you know, Brandon and I had to move not to long ago. We moved into an apartment that had a much bigger living room, so we decided to get couches, and give Mom and Dad Tanner back theirs. It took 6 weeks for us to get them, but it was worth it. They are gorgeous. However, I needed end tables now that I got my couch. So the hunt began... I searched for some that I liked, but did you know that end tables are expensive? You cannot find a decent one less then a hundred bucks! So, I decided to go Garage Sale shopping. I found these ones for $30 bucks! I could not pass them up, but as you can see they needed a little TLC.

So, in between the days I had to work I worked on these tables. I have come to the conclusion that I am addicted to the color RED! I LOVE IT! Brandon, however does not! But, he lets me use it while we are in a temporary place where I cannot paint the walls! I have to get my color in somehow. So, what color did I paint these babies? Yep, you guessed it.. RED! Here is stage two.

I painted them outside. As you can see, I tried to save the grass, but it did not work as well as I planed. Mind you we live in Rexburg ID, so of course it was windy! It made it difficult to get the paint even, but I did my best. So, here is the finished project. I love them! They are a bit big, but as I said before, I'm addicted to RED, so the bigger the better! I still have to find lamps to go on them, and I have a plan to put up a wall decor that includes pictures and ribbon...That is my next project! You can see the rod behind the right end table to go with it. Right now I have a mirror above the couch. (That is why there is a glare in the middle of the pic!) Oh, included in the next project I am going to cover those awful throw pillows!

Happy Mothers Day to All you Mammas!

I'm here at work on Mothers Day, and I am just thinking about all of you Moms. What a blessing/curse it is to be a Mom. I guess I should not say curse, but it is a really hard job. You never get a day off, or a break. It is constant 24/7. I just want all of you to know how much I appreciate you, and how much I look up to you. Everyone of you have taught, and still teach, me how to be a mother. That is another hard thing about being a mom.... You never "graduate" from it. You are always learning. I suppose you could say you "graduate" when you get all of your kids out of the house, but that still isn't true, because then you have your kids calling you for advice and stuff. So, Thanks for all of your examples to me. Hopefully I can take them all in and mold them into my own. So, let your hair down, lock the door, and take a BUBBLE BATH. You all deserve it! I love ya!

"Pick your own cow for dinner"

So, I am a little late with this one, but this is also from conference weekend. On the way back to UT from Idaho we stopped at this resturant, that I cannot remember the name of, that had their own cattle in a pasture in the back! Don't get me wrong it was really good. But, these pictures were just too cute for me not to post. The ones with Brandon and the kids is he was keeping them entertained while we waited to be seated... It was a very long wait, we were running out of ideas, so he would bite at their hands as they put them on his head! Preety creative, but it only kept their attention for a bit! Good Ol' uncle Brandon.

Just some Pictures of Conference Weekend

Saturday Rex and the Kids and my Mom and Dad came out to Rexburg to see Brandon and I and the Temple.

This is a picture of Kody running in our back yard in the snow.

This is Allison at the temple. This was the first day of pictures. If you scroll down, you can see them get worse. She was done by the end of the weekend with pictures!

Catching up

So, everyone keeps telling me that I need to update our blog so here it goes. We are going to play a little catch up.
Conference weekend Brandon and I went down to UT. My parents, and my handsome brother Rex and his darling kids came too. It was great! It was so much fun. I at least had fun. I kinda pawned Brandon off with my Dad and my brother. He went with them to the conference center for the second session on sat. and for the priesthood session. While he was with them, the girls and I tended to Rex's sweet babies. It was so much fun, but I think I spoiled them a little to much, but who can blame me? I haven't seen them since Christmas!
On they way home Brandon told me that he doesn't think he is ready for kids. He said that they wore him out! But then he said that it might be the best thing for him because he would loose 50 lbs from running after them! We really enjoyed seeing everyone. Sunday night Keri played hostess and invited all of My mom's siblings over for dinner. It was a lot fun to see everyone that came.
Brandon and I then came home, and just got back into the grove of school and work. We really are not that exciting. Except on Thursday of last week we found out that we had to move out of our apt! Oh, that has been a mess! But finally we got everything situated. We are moving out the 22. The new apt is really nice, I will have to take some pictures and post them when we get moved in and all decorated. That is really it for now...

Kelly Canyon.... The Path of H E Double Hockey Stick!

This is Kelly Canyon. Beautiful right? Yeah, I didn't think so when we pulled up! I literally almost soiled myself when I saw the Mt. Saturday, March 15, 2008 Brandon and I decided to go snowboarding. I have wanted to do this for the longest time! I finally got up enough nerve to get everything together to go. Mind you, I don't own any kind of snow cloths, or a snow board or anything, but we go it taken care of. Brandon's friend from work let me borrow his wives snowboard and boots, and we went to Rigby to borrow Jens snow cloths. So I was set. I was going to be warm, and I was going to have a really nice board to use! I was stoked! I was going to get so many cute pictures for the blog.... Well, as you can see that didn't work out according to plan, and neither did most of anything else!
We went night skiing, so we didn't start heading up to Kelly until around 3pm. As soon as we pulled up I deiced that I didn't want to go anymore. But, Brandon made me because he had already bought the lift tickets. The first thing you see when you pull up is this huge hill, the side of Mt, and all of these preteen kids are flying down it at a million miles an hour! I was so scared! Luckily, to the left was this little slope. I mean it barely had an incline. That is what they call a bunny slope! So, I started to head towards that, and Brandon was showing me how to put my snow board on. I was feeling confident, there were these little five and three year olds who were just flying down one there skis and boards. I thought to my self " I can do this"...... Not so much! There was a rope pull that pulled you up this little incline and so once I got strapped into my board Brandon pulled me over to it and told me to just grab on...... So I did and I got about half way up and my board went into a divot and I fell! I had to roll out of the way so I wouldn't get plowed over by the five year old who was behind me.....I was so embarrassed, and so angry at my husband! I didn't know how to move the board. So, once I got out of the way I ripped of my board and yelled " I'm Done!" (This was just the first time, it was said several more times.) then I decided to walk up the rest of the way. Brandon finally reached me and then started to ask" why did you fall? Why did you take off your board?" I was so furious I couldn't even answer him. Then he got better, and he actually started to teach me how to do it. It was not pretty. He kept yelling at me "Stand up straight, you look like your taking a dump!" Then he kept using these snowboarding terms that I had no idea what they meant. After many falls I finally got down the bunny hill. Then Brandon tells me that it is time to go up the lift! I was scared out of my mind! I was not ready to go down the entire Mt, let alone get off the lift without killing myself! He assured me that it wasn't as steep as it looked, and that he would help me get off the lift..... Well, to his credit he tried, bless his heart, but I still ate it getting off he lift, and then I saw the path of hell! It was not an easy slope down, granted it was not the steep hill you see when you pull up to the resort, but there was still a huge hill that you could not even see the bottom of, and people who knew what they were doing were just flying past us. I felt like such an idiot! I was in every ones way, and I am really glad they knew how to get around me because I couldn't move to get out of there way! To make an already long story shorter, it took Brandon and I 2 and 1/2 hours to get down the Mt. I fell over a hundred times, and I broke down in tears twice. For normal people, they could get down the same way in about 30 min. I think I saw the same group pass us 4 times! The worst part was when I broke down I couldn't wipe my tears because all of my cloths I was wearing were soaking wet from the snow, and my gloves were wet, and my hands inside my gloves were wet from sweat, so I had to just let my tears freeze on my cheeks!
Everyone tried to tell Brandon and I not to go together. That we would fight, and not have a very good time. We should have listened to them! We are still married, but it did take a toll on us. Brandon was a lot better then me. He stayed calm, and he didn't even yell at me. I could tell that he was getting frustrated, but who wouldn't when you have some one yelling at you every five seconds?
However, at the end I started to get the hang of it. Either I got the hang of it, or I knew if I fell again I wouldn't be able to get myself back up! I am so incredibly sore it is ridiculous! Every muscle in my body is throbbing. Someday I would really like to go again because they say your first time is the worst, but once you get it you get it. So, I would like to see how well I would do the next time. But, I know my body is thankful that last weekend was the last weekend they were open, so we will just have to wait till next season....

Moral of the story: Don't have your husband teach you how to do something. Take lessons from a real instructor, and once you have learned then go out and have fun. Otherwise there will be blood, tears, and really bad words said that you didn't even know you knew!

Our Cold Winter Days...

So, this picture is for Jackie. She wanted a picture of the cold snow I keep complaining about!
This picture was taken in the beginning of December. I was trying to get a picture for our Christmas cards. So I had this marvelous plan that we would go take pictures up in Island park. For those of you who don't know Island park is about an hour away from Rexburg. It is up by Yellowstone National park. So, on one of my days off from work I made Brandon take me up there so we could get some good pictures, however there is a catch, we went alone! We didn't have anyone to take our picture. That is how lame we are! No friends what so ever! He assured me that we could find someone up there to do it. So, we drove and drove until we came to a ghost town. I mean there was not living thing in sight! I guess that time of year is there off season. Who knew? It was too early for the snow machines, and too late for the hunters. However, Brandon was determined to get these pictures for me so we ended up at this hotel/gas station/diner, and went in and got some lunch. We were really lucky that they were even open for business! So, Brandon comes up with this story that we just got married, and we were on our honeymoon, and he talks our waitress into taking our picture. I don't think she really bought the story because why in the world would we go to Island park on our honeymoon? But, nevertheless she took our picture out in the snow, and she was really good about it. It was really funny how it all came about. I was impressed, or should I say shocked on how well Brandon could tell such a story without even missing a beat! It made me wonder if he had ever lied to me before just because he did it with such ease! I guess the funniest part of the story is that we didn't even end up using these pictures for our Christmas cards! All that work for nothing, but I guess we do get a good story out of it.

Just Starting out

So, yes we have fallen to the craze about blogging! I personally am excited to do this. However, don't expect too much. Brandon and I really don't have that much going on. I just work, and he is going to school and working. We have another year until we are finished here at BYU Idaho. I really hope it goes fast! This last year has gone by really fast. Then after that we will get into a PA program somewhere. Hopefully somewhere warm! It has snowed non stop! Of course the first winter I'm here it has to be the worst one in years. Just my luck hunh? It is getting warmer though. However, people tell me not to get my hopes up. They say that the weather will do that to you, it will get warm and make everyone have spring fever and then it will just get cold again! It really has been the longest winter I have ever experienced. I cannot wait until spring and summer.
